About IAESTE Nepal

About us

IAESTE Nepal, an esteemed associate member of the International Association for the Exchange of Students for Technical Experience (IAESTE), was established in 1948 at Imperial College London. Represented by the Civil Initiative, our Kathmandu-based non-profit has been pivotal in facilitating rewarding international internships for Nepali students and welcoming global talent into Nepal.

Since our official inauguration in 2017 by the then Education Minister Hon. Gopal Man Shrestha, we’ve provided over 150 Nepali students with valuable paid internship opportunities and supported many others through various student empowerment programs, bridging connections with over 100 countries worldwide.

What is IAESTE?

IAESTE (visit us at https://iaeste.org/) is a global non-governmental, non-profit organization that orchestrates an international paid internship program benefiting students, employers, and universities. Our paid internships offer students the chance to gain professional experience and develop cross-cultural skills. Employers and universities benefit from the fresh perspectives and insights brought by talented international interns. While IAESTE primarily focuses on STEM fields, we have broadened our scope to include areas such as marketing, management, and languages.

With a legacy dating back to 1948, IAESTE has facilitated life-changing paid internships for over 371,000 students across more than 100 countries, supported by the collaborative efforts of 3,000+ universities and multinational companies. Honored with ‘general’ consultative status by the UN, IAESTE is empowered to contribute to discussions and decisions at a higher level within the UN framework globally.
