Civil Scholarships

One of the primary objectives of the Civil Initiative (CI) to create change makers through the power of quality education. CI aims to ensure that no one is left behind to the access of quality education. To full fulfil this goal, CI has set up the Civil Scholarship Fund. CI distributes Civil Scholarships through this fund to the needy children of Nepal. Civil Scholarships was officially launched on 14th June 2021 by the then Education Minister Hon. Gopal Man Shrestha amidst an event at Yak and Yeti Hotel. CI has attained supports from several entities and individuals in setting up and expanding this fund. Non-Resident Nepali Association, Thailand was the first key contributor to the seed fund to set up Civil Scholarship. The then NRNA Thailand president had handed over the cheque of 3.5 million Nepali rupees to the Minister of Education as a donation to Civil Scholarship during the lunch of the fund. Another important contributor is Mega Bank Limited Nepal. Currently, 40 students from Gorkha and Dolakha districts are receiving Civil Scholarship for their entire high school education. However, CI has an ambitious goal of providing Civil Scholarships to 100 needy students per year in the future. Towards this, CI requests all kind heart and souls to make voluntary contribution to the civil scholarship fund.
